Default Magnacharger experts - weigh in please, low boost, not performing like normal

Hi Folks - the title of the thread says it all.

Just this last week the Denali has started being a bit of a dog. Can only manage 3 lbs of boost (normally max out at 5lbs) and just not as much jam off the line. I would appreciate advice as to what I might check for.

Other details - have a 2-bar tune from Campbell automotive that has worked fine for over a year now. Aftermarket exhaust and Volant air intake. Corvette Servo is the only tranny work that has been done. Run synthetic oils.

So I am stumped. And will gladly take any advice.

Thanks

D

I shall give it a check in the morning. Mighty fine suggestion. Do you think it may be belt slippage perhaps? If so, how do I fix that? Obv more tension required but not sure how to do that (paid to have the maggie installed, I am not that mechanical).

Thanks - I will check it out.

Tensioner should be at half way of travel with engine off. If it is less than that you can buy a belt that is 1/2"~1" shorter, this will help increase belt tension. Also make sure your bypass is fully closing for maximum boost.

No expert here but first thing I'd do is check/clean the airfilter and MAF, swap plugs.

I agree, I would also replace the belt if you have alot of miles on it. You could order the upgraded Tensioner but I would look for the problem first.

Also check that the bypass actuator is working. Check that the vac line is attached to it and that it closes the valve when the truck is started.

Some quick thoughts:

1. I have about 40,000 hassle free miles on the kit.
2. Have a 2 bar tune, not using MAF, will check air cleaner
3. What does "Balancer is spinning" mean - can you post a pic of what the balancer is please - I am very low on the technical knowledge scale

Thanks for all the weighing in folks!

Check this thread out D. I'm thinking either balancer spinning or belt slipping. Do you see any black dust around the belt/pulley areas?
