I just got the motor running, go into boost a couple of times and the belt walks off the supercharger. I have the new design of the tensioner/idle bracket. I am puzzled, the tensioner and one of the idler pulleys are wider then the belt and have a ridge around them, and one idler pulley is smooth. The one pulley to the left that can move up and down, is all the way up. I can bring it down for more belt tension, if thats my problem. Tensioner is brand new as well.

 

I run my idler pulley shoved all the way down. no problems.

 

I moved it down about half-way, i guess i'll see how it goes...

 

Did you "Pin" your crank pulley?

 

Make sure the crank pulley is all the way on. And the way I believe the adjustable idler works is you pull the tensioner all the way clockwise, push the idler down as far as you can (with belt on) and tighten, then release tensioner.

 

Had the same problem.
Found out one of the idler pulleys bearings was going out.

The idler lean in just enough for the belt to slip off.

 

I havent touched the crank pulley, and magnacharger install kit doesnt say anything about pinning the crank...is that still a problem even with the low 5-6lbs of boost?

The tensioner only goes on one way, its keyed and has a pin sticking out in the back that goes into a hole on the bracket, so you cant put it on wrong or move it down.

I can however, bring down one of the idler pulleys, and that will bring more tension on the belt. I seem to also have belt dust around the belt, so maybe all it needs is more tension?

 

assuming good bearings you can also switch to Metco pulleys, I was throwing belts left and right before I switched, problem solved, haven't thrown one since

 

do you by any chance have a part# to those metco pulleys, and a part# to the bearings?
