Hey maggie guys what low temp radiator are u using pics if u got em?




04 5.3 punched out to 346 mahle pistons,stock bottom end,arp rod & head bolts,comp cam, ported stock heads,dynatech long tube headers 3.5 inch cat back,tvs 1900 3.00 pulley 90 mm throttle body, built tranny.

Elevation 6200 ft.

Trying to get inlet temps down a little bit more

 

It's debatable whether a larger heat exchanger has much effect on charge temperature while in boost. Faster cool-down definitely, slower heat-up, maybe.

I use the CTS-V heat exchanger 28"x14" IIRC. Buy from one of our sponsors. Methanol and nitrous help slightly

 

What temps do see just driving around and aduring a hard pull?

8*f over ambient just cruising around. I think my 1/4 pulls got as high as 120* (have to go double-check) in mid-70*s weather, but I also have meth and nitrous

 

i'm 30* hotter than out side air and its cold here 20* After a hard pull 150*
It cools off fast though

What sponser has that cts-v intercooler?

 

I have the magnacharger one and a cts-v from supersub and it helps as far as not heating up as fast just driving around normal but overall temps are the same 30* above. But i would say it does cool down faster but once heat soaked its soaked.

 

Has anyone tried the spacer for the intercooler under the supercharger seen some for the 5th gen's but not for the tvs. Do they work and were can i get one if it will help with heat soak.

 

Seen them, I think Supersub (?) had one custom made. Hmm, with the 112 I was seeing 30* over ambient but with the IAT in the intake runner with the TVS mine are only 8* out of boost. Wonder why you guys are seeing much higher?

 

I dont know i think it's the low temp rad the one that came in the kit sucked the shop that put my kit on has had nothing but trouble with them the techco one works good its alot thicker but cant get one. The company is moving and cant get a hold off anyone there. i put one on from frozen boost it has a fan on it. It helped but still need to get temps down. Where did u buy your cts-v one? If supersub has them how do i order it. Sorry not really familar with the site
