So I'm going to need to do SD? Will my ECM do SD?

There are countless setups running the MAF in front of the TB. It has to be re-calibrated, but its doable... As long as the MAF is after the bend several inches the effects of the intake piping should be minimized.

If it is after the bend pretty close more than likely you will need to rotate the maf while logging to find the "sweet spot". There have been several threads on tech, efilive and hptuners on this subject. Seems the GTO guys are really affected by this due to all the curves before and after the maf with their setups

It's going to be really close to the bend. Like a few inches away.

That's where GM put it on F bodies

With the LSX-RT manifold and my MAF sensor there is really no room in there to make this work. If I use it the 90* silicone coupler it will be trimmed way back to the bend just about. I don't think it's going to work. Can I set it up for Speed Density with my factory ECM?

yeah why not . i am suprised at how many truck guys still use their maf. if you look at the f-body guys very few use it. set it up for 2 or 3 bar and rock it especially with e 85.

If it's that much of a hassle, why not just SD it? You're going to obviously be forcing a ton of air through the MAF, so I'd just assume scrap it rather than bother with it.
