Made a new STS oil cap
#1
I haven't got my kit on yet. Its driving me nuts to see it sit in the garage for over two months. I am waiting to get all the other part like gauge's and upgrade some of the parts in the kit. I am going to make my stock A pillar hold four gauge's using wood and fiberglass. I have all the templates made I just have to start working on it. I had braided SS hoses made for the STS oil return lines.
So I read on here that some people said that the oil cap in the STS kit leaks. The cap they use only has a wall section of about .050 for the pipe thread to form a seal. So I made my own.

Dude, nice work!!! How much do you want for one!
Mine leaked the first time I took it out on the hiway. I douched it in teflon tap and secured the oil line a litte better and so far so good. But I'm sure it will start to leak again soon. Especially if I turn the oil pump on high.

Thanks guys. I will try to figure out a price for them. Lets see how many people would like one. Don't think you will like the price. Just guessing some were around the $50 to $60.
TGO .
CNC. IF it was manual they would be $ 1000.00.
It was a top and a bottom setup on CNC and one side in a lathe. If I make more I will make some soft jaws for the vice in the CNC so I don't have the lathe setup.

That's not a bad price, considering the regular old "billet" ones are 35-40. If I were you I would contact STS with this. With the issues they have with the cap, I wouldn't doubt that they would put this in their kit. Then you could make a whole bunch for everyone.
