M112 belt slip
I have a M112 on my 5.3 in my Monte SS, and I have a lot of rubber buildup around the blower pulley so that tells me im getting belt slip. I am running a 3.0 pulley along with a Goodyear gatorback belt. I did a quick check of my tensioner and its breaking torque at around 18ft/lbs which seems a little low to me.
Is there anything I can do? Larger idler pulleys, different belt, stronger tensioner to fix this issue or am I going to have to pony up for a 8 rib setup?
P.S. I am not spinning this thing high at all, I shift at 6k

Yes , get some 100mm dayco idlers from the parts store to help belt wrap ,
Ditch that poor gator back for a gates green HD belt , or I've also had great luck with Dayco poly cog belts , only saw slip with a 2.6 pulley lol
You can get a larger crank balancer and it will help with slip as well as increase boost .
And also yes to the HD belt tensioner if you don't have it , it's a must have .

Ill give the HD belt a shot to see how that works out, Is the HD tensioner a Magnacharger specific item or is that something I can get at the parts store.
Honestly I am not ready to overdrive the crank and try to make more boost, I see 9-10lbs now and the car is making 430whp bone stock 5.3 and im running the stock 7.5in 10bolt and with that I am on borrowed time especially with a T56 lol. Need to get a 9in first haha

I believe it's Gates 38131, but double check that. Picked mine up from OReilly's for about $45. It bolted right up in place of stock after I swapped pulleys.

Here's my solution which is specific to the truck kits:
The pic was taken with a 2.9 pulley but I have since moved to a 2.6. This is on a 6 rib setup with HD tensioner and stock balancer.

The pulley on the passenger side is a adjustable idler, you can put it in whatever location you would like. By moving it up or down you can adjust where the tensioner is at in its travel range, you want the tensioner to be in the middle of the travel range so place the adjustable idler in whatever position that best achieves this.

Gamble, is that a custom piece that you made or is that a kit to eliminate belt slip?
That's what I figured and I appreciate the response, after I made this post I used the idler pulley to bring the tensioner to the middle of its travel and time will tell if I still have slip, I cant hear the slip or see it on my boost gauge so it is minimal but after adjusting I am seeing 10-11lbs now instead of 9-10lbs at 5k and above.
I still want to try that tensioner and a new belt for piece of mind.
