Default low boost-high boost question

as you guys now I am building my first turbo set up, was a supercharger guy but went a different route,
some of these numbers might not be axact because we still need to know what she can do,
OK, for my example, lets say my low boost is around 14 # to 17 # and high boost is 20 to 25 #

my question is, can you switch from low to high during any conditions, lets sat i am racing a guy on low boost and at WOT I am losing, under full throttle can
I go right into high boost?
are you guys following my thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark

I THINK that might work. I am not sure, I never tried it with my turbo.

a switchable boost controller is needed. Some really call it a HI LO controller, I do not know how fast responding, when making the switch between the two, it should happen pretty darn quick.
An electronic controller or just a dual manual one.

Yes as long as you have a dual stage boost controller. The engine will be tuned for optimium performance at the higher boost setting so at low boost you will not be running as much timing. I have been running like this for 3years now, no problems.

sure why not, I can be running down the road at full boost then turn up the boost on the manual controller from inside the truck to make more boost. I don't see why you couldn't do it the way you are thinking.

You wont need to worry, who/what is going to be a threat to you? Seriously, after riding in Rick's truck, a measley 5.3 with 14lbs i am convinced you will need full time all-wheel drive.

You just have to spool up to the new boost level, but as long as your controller is electric and dual stage, flipping the switch is all you need to do.

I always tune for high boost and pump gas for my street tune, that way I can flip the switch and go. My setup has a staged activation of both extra fuel and methanol, however, so I can do a pretty aggressive tune for high boost and it works fine for low boost.

I SAY TUNE FOR HIGH BOOST... RUN AT LOW BOOST MOST THE TIME, BUT AT WOT IT AUTOMATICALLY GOES HI BOOST... NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT EVER LOSING AT ALL IN "LOW BOOST"
