Foose04 ran almost 1000hp for what seemed like forever with his 4.8 so yours shouldnt be a problem lol. I would love to get me a G body but everyone in san anto thinks theyre sitting on gold. What are you torquing down those head studs to?

Glad to see this thread. Pretty close to my set up so lets see who blows first!

This is going to be a cool build.

Foose04 ran 40k miles boosted, and just broke 900rwhp right before it let loose. I still think the reason it let loose was because the rings touched and broke the piston. He was also running E85 so the piston stayed cooler as I assume will be in this build too with a 225lb injector.

Good luck with the build, I have an 81 Malibu setting on the side for a build someday. This will be a fun project to watch.

Did his motor have the gen4 rods?

And yea im running E85 aswell as the a/w so I shouldn't see over 70* iat's with ice in the tank and turbo full tilt. This turbo was just to get the build going but I will likely switch to 76R with 92 or 96mm turbine wheel.

I went with the 83mm turbine cause I knew I was going to need a strong 60" and 330" and was afraid the 96mm turbine was going to sacrifice too much low end and mid range power for this 290ci motor...Hope I made the right choice!

Yeah and people pretend like they either don't exist or they don't have that turbine

All these giant cams have made people rush for giant turbines lol. I'm with you, I went smaller on the turbine this time around than the current 'norm'....not expecting it to be a slouch at all
