Just wondering what you guys think a 408 and TVS2300 might cost someone... Thinking about doing this someday, would probably make for a very fun DD.

more like 20k unless it's a budget build and you do all the labor yourself

those little parts add up.

Do the labor yourself.
Texas speed 408 shortblock $4000
TVS2300 $7500
Good used 317's $300
Gaskets $200
Used, low mile 4L80E + stock TC + HD2 shift kit $900
4L80E conversion parts $600
Cam $400
Tune $400

Your at over $14k without breaking a sweat. You want to play, ...

Well so far thats what Ive expected. Looks like if I can do anything soon I would just have to rock a NA 408 untill some of the better goodies could be had.

My idea was a 408/tvs2300 and use L92 heads maybe, but Idk what would be the best heads to use on something like that.

This is pretty much the route I'm headed with my truck also. The shop that does all the work on my Denali roughly quoted me about 8k for a "mild" 408. Mild to them though is a fully built engine. They have built engines for Dale earnharts race team and tons of other drag, road racing, etc. teams. They build 1000hp all motor engines quite oftenly. I would give them a call and just see what they can do for you.
