That type of engine just doesn't have the low & mid torque to push a car.

If it displaced 2000cc it would. Thse engines are screamers but a similar larger design putting out even 400hp would have more than enough torque to push around a Cobalt. Hooked to a six speed manual or maybe a seven, it would be a blast to drive.

you can't really compare the MotoGP engines to production car engines.The motoGp bikes and their engines are race only, and are not realted at all to the production engines. Honda even has a V-5 MotoGP engine. They would be comparable to the Formula 1 engines. 999cc sportbikes on average put out 160hp now, still very impressive.

The Honda S2000 puts out 240 hp out of a 2 liter N/A. I'm sure its torque curve leaves a bit to be desired though
