pull the spark plugs and spin it over.... do a ccompression check, if something in the bottom end is hurt, you'll have a hole or two with inconsistent compression.... if so, its time for replacement/teardown... and yes, inspect your valvetrain and cam. there shouldnt be anything wrong with them if it was just the bottom end damaged on startup.

I have locked 3 or 4 motors, only one bent a rod, 6L Ford Powerjoke.
Pull the plugs, spin the motor. Spray some WD 40 in each plug hole the meth will rust the rings and bore, If it runs warm it up and change the oil fast.
Good Luck

That sucks Russ, Id pull the plugs and turn it by hand, if it stops then turn it the other way , if it stops again then more then likely its got a bent one. sometimes you can do more damage using the starter the using a wrench.

I pulled all the plugs, all were wet and about 3-6 ounces of meth/water poured out of 7 & 8.
I put a ratchet on the crank and it started turning for a while and then stopped hard.I went back and forth and stops in both directions. Then I could hear something inside was broke.
So it is done!
Now I just have to stop thinking all of the I shoulda-coulda-woulda bullshit and get it back on the road.
