I have had a radix, know how they sound.
I know prochargers are just plain loud.
How do turbos compare sound/noise wise.
I expect there will be a difference between STS rear mount and front mount.

Had a blower on the 04, wife never noticed, love her dearly, but am hoping for the same.

have you been next to a semi and heard the turbo spool up and they climb a hill. for the front mount the sound is the similur. a high pitched whisle. i love the sound even when it is coming from a trash truck. under idle and normal cruise you wont hear it at all. under a small to moderate load it will spool up and start to whisle a little. floor it and it will scream but if you have loud exhaust you may not hear it at all. let me see if i can find one of the first clips of my truck when it had a turbo.

Mine sounds more like air rushing than the typical high pitched whistle.

 

Its really nice that its quiet at idle and low throttle. nobody knows whats happening until they hear a jet coming. If your standing down the road with the truck coming at you the turbo sound is awesome.

 

If you're inside riding, it sounds like air being sucked in (vacuum). Outside, a jet. I can completely understand where you are coming from. My wife doesn't know about the stuff on my truck either. Just depends on how much she knows about mechanical stuff.

 

Tell her the alternator bearing is shot

but instead of replacing it you thought it was a better idea to buy her a gift (insert appropriate gift here) cause you love her and she matters more than your car ever will.
