How much lift is overkill on a maggie (2.8 pulley)and a 5.3 ? Looking at some ported and polished heads with 2.04 intake and 1.58 exhaust valves with stainlessworks long tubes through dual 3" pipes with x-pipe high flow cats and dynomax ultra-flo street/race mufflers. This is my daily driver but It will see some track time.

 

Have you already picked you cam timing events?

 

No, I am just at the point of picking a cam and i remember someone saying don't get too crazy on the lift. Just wondering how much is crazy. if you go too big are you losing some boost? Is 600 lift too much??

 

IMO 600 is the limit for a DD, unless you plan on replacing valve springs as part as you maintenance. Lift is not as important as much as the valve events themselves. Who did your head work? What heads are they? Any flow data?
