402-408's get choked up by a 67mm turbo. There are some guys on tech that have made 700rwhp/tq with them with 40X engines, but they were done below 6000rpm if I remember. The boost was fairly low too, like 13psi. It'd be real happy on a 370 though.

you can make 750 HP on the 67, it just depends on your cubes and weather the turbo is going to become a restriction.

Stop asking Mike, get that 383 in the Hoe, and put that turbo that has been sitting in your garage for 2 years on it. You know you want to, and wouldnt it be nice to be the first full size SUV to run 11's? Of course if you did that I would be motivated to beat it and make mine run 10's. lol

I'd buy a 402 and T88 turbo kit next payday just to play. lol (if wife didnt kill me)

well the reason i ask is i would like to get a set of pistons for a boosted set up and just do a 402 but i already have the turbo and don't wanna sell it and loose money on something that is NEW and never even seen exhaust gases. so if it would do good on a 383 and the flat top pistons (with 2cc reliefs) would be ok, then i would just do that being that i have the block and 383 kit just waiting to be put together. but at the same time the lowest i could get the compression with this set up is like 10:1 i think it was.

here is the pistons http://www.jepistons.com/cat/je/auto...b/15_ls1.shtml

The TBSS comes with what, 10.7:1 or something like that? They are running boost safely and making tons of power. This will be boost on a high compression FULLY BUILT motor. It will be fine at 10.1 or 10.5. You may not run 20psi, but up to about 13psi on a built motor should make insane power.

At 10:1 SCR and 13psi, you're going to need race gas or a ton of meth to make it live on the street. I would just keep it around 5-6psi for street use with an IC and/or meth, and then crank it up at the track.

What rpm do you want to spin the 383 to (i.e. what cam do you have)?
What kind of power are you looking for?

the cam is a 227/231 .639"/.643" 110 lsa +2 advance. as long as the turbo spols up fast i don't have to turn the engine very fast maybe 6000 rpm. this thing wieghs 5580lbs and is awd with a detroit locker in the rear. so power under the curve is good. no problem with traction here lol. my wastgate spring is 7lbs how would this do?
