Smile How many guys are pulling with turbo trucks

Alright everybody, I am installing a turbo on my 2009 GMC 1500 CCSB 4x4 and planning on pulling a fair amount with it running low boost levels. I would really like to know how many of you guys are doing the same and get as much feed back as possible. I am pulling a 7000# boat and about 6000# of snowmobiles and trailer in the winter. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on pulling my boat with mine aswell so im in to see what everyone says. Theres so much torque there I know its going to pull like a fraight train! but im sure we will have to watch the boost level real close, dont want to go over 5ish psi cause of the heat.

As long as EGT's are kept in check in don't see a problem pulling whatever you can latch on to.

Agreed, my old crewcab towed from texas to MN and from CA to NC with no issues at all. Running through the mountains I couldn't get to impatient though, as with egts I had to watch like a hawk pulling car or implement trailers.

Keep converter in mind too. If you do ANY towing in town, better have a tight converter or a fan assisted trans cooler.

There will be some towing in town of course but most is done on highway. The truck pulls the stuff fine the way it is but gets really weak in the hills up north where we boat and snowmobile a lot. We are mostly at sea level here in Michigan but can get into some long grades and hills the further north we go. I miss my diesel but not the fuel costs and all the other fun stuff that comes along with owning a diesel (smell of fuel, finding diesel stations, etc.) The stuff I am pulling is not that heavy but sure would be nice to hold a 70 mph speed up some of these hills. Part of me is quite nervous about doing this because of the fact the truck is still under warranty and also that I DO NOT want to lose reliability. I have been down that rode before, don't care to go back. I already have a wideband, boost gauge and the factory tranny temp gauges to help me monitor things.

Stop posting boat pictures lol, i'm ready for summer! I pull my water toy (around 4500) locked in overdrive without issue. I usually try to keep boost under 2-3 pounds though when doing long mountain pulls thru NC or TN. If I need more boost then that I'll drop down to third and lock it. Then she puts her game face on.
