And Iv heard of guys calling STS on a pipe only kit and they still wanted $2k, just for the pipe and couplers, granted it HPC coated. Just think what youd pay for a custom exhaust, from the manifold to the tailpipe, beside using couplers instead of welding every section its not to far off. But dont get me wrong there is a lot of little stuff to contend with, oiling, pcv, wastegate, wiring, relays, and so on.
Anyways, has anyone out there ever muffled a STS setup?
Thanks Jeremy
NASCAR....thats cuz rednecks cant tig weld....

I have a muffler on mine, but unless you drop the cats and / or add cubes, the STS will do fine on it's own.

You won't find a kit less the turbo and WG for $2000. You're paying a lot for the coating. If I were you I'd forgo the coating on the intake pipes and just use aluminum. It'll probably dissapate the heat the same if not better. Also you might not want to weld up the all the pipes. There are couplers there for a reason. It would make install pretty damn difficult for some of the pipes.

Ya I agree about the coupler situation.
For rednecks they wipp 800 horse out of a naturally aspirated engine perty easy.
That was funny though.

Make sure you get the crankcase ventilated properly to prevent presuure build up in there.
I just checked my STS ventilation doo-hicky and the filter was soaked with oil and burped all over my intake pipe, couplers, and MAF!!
I looked under the return cap to find some more mily crap in the oil, I just changed two weeks ago.
Sorry for whoring the thread a little, just want to stress don't forget anything in the set up. Ask anyone here with an STS and I'm sure they will be glad to give you input.

Hey thanks, If you have ever been to junkyardturbo forum, a guy called dino has done a rear mt allready. Now hes moved the turbo to the in front of the radiator, its a sweet setup but hes not the best welder. But his pcv check valve seems to work great.
This is a guy I knows sprint boat, is that bad *** or what?
Thanks Jeremy[IMG][/IMG]

if you're going to build your own turbo kit, why not put it up front?
