I imagine at some point I'll upgrade to the Alkycontrol so I can run 100% meth, but I'm not spending any more cash til I drive it for a bunch of miles. Its got plenty of torq which will make me happy between stop signs . Next step will be to see what differences we get once outdoor temps cool, then once I'm reacquainted with it I might be willing to part with it again to change the cam. R/
as I've been saying(broken record) that still seems awfully high, I was seeing high 130 low 140's WOT in the 1/4 mile in almost 100 dergree heat, hot lapping 4-5 times in a row...............

I am just looking at your combo compared to others with less efficient set ups and your IAT's are astronomical in comparison.

From what I've seen mostly on Vette's is that a normal temp is 140 with 6-7lbs of boost, then the temp goes 155-185 on Vette's that run 10-12lbs. Seen it many, many times so I think of it as normal now. Root's just run hot.

So lets take the IAT's out of the equation, why are LS1 and LS2 GTO / vettes making over 600 rwhp with a less efficient intercooler? There is SOMETHING in Randy's combination that is not right. Either hard parts or tuning, there is SOMETHING that is not jiving here.

Just an FYI it is not a "roots" blower, it is considered a modified roots

I personally think he's spinning the blower too fast. Its generating so much heat thats its killing any benefits from increased airflow. Intercooler cant keep up, so power is down. I'd keep the larger crank pulley and back off the compressor pulley some (for better belt wrap) and see if you can get the temps down some and add some timing back in. See if you can find that sweet spot where you have good boost and acceptable IATs.

On my LQ9 / Radix with the 2.75" pulley, I would pretty easily get to 180*+ temps on a long 100mph run on a mid 80* day. Cruise temps were usually 40* above ambient. I think thats just the nature of the beast if you want higher boost from these things.

I am by no means an FI expert, but could his cam be bleeding boost, and he is having to spin the crap out of the blower to actually get any boost out of it therefore causing his IATs to be sky high???? just a thought...

I ran a both a larger heat exchanger and a larger Vortec reservoir to keep my IATs in check. But with a 2.75" pulley it was a loosing cause, what I did find was that by using Evans waterless coolant,160 degree thermostat and a Evans waterpump,I could run as much as 27 degrees timing with 7lb of boost in the Memphis 100 degree temperatures.Going with a 90 mm throttlebody was also of some benefit in controlling KR.
