My buddy is building a 5.3 turbo motor for a standard cab s10. He is using 3.905 dished pistons and a 3.622 stroke. Stock 5.3 heads that may be slightly worked (not sure off the top of my head though.) His cam is a 224/224 .567/.567 115Lsa. He is looking at buying a turbonetics gtk-1000. I believe its 76mm .96ar. I told him before he orders it, let me ask around on here and see what some of the experts think. So, is it a good choice? If not, what would be a good match for his setup?

 

that turbo should work pretty good,,looks like it has 68mm turbine exducer, allota money though

 

I did not like the fit of that turbo. The exhaust housing Vbnad flagne was farther back then we were use to. By about 3".
Magnums for the money is hard to beat.

 

Well he ended up spending the money and went with the Turbonetics gtk-1000. He went and bought an intake manifold as well. I dont know how to post the picture of it tovthis thread cause im on my tablet, but if u go into the new members section u can see it under the thred titled "new guy from detroit." How do u guys think that intake will do with his setup. He also got himself some ls9 head gaskets. Thanks guys
