Thanks Gibbs

like I said earlier, I don't want to race. I want low end power. I would think anything midrange would be ok. Getting into rpms over 4000 would probably push the limits of the fuel system with a turbo.

i say go with the superchager (low end torque your looking for)....you say you can do this for $1,600 but lets be honest here, your leaving out a lot of misc items that add up QUICKLY. Id say your more in the range of $2,500 to do the COMPLETE turbo setup, tuning, injectors, exhaust, brackets, relocating components, etc, and thats with you fabbing it up yourslef Sounds like a neat project but with minimal (if any) people that have done a V10 turbo your going into unchartered waters and could easily end up spending a lot more than you first thought.

i concur with the above unless you are the fabricator and can do everthing yourself.
if you can it all yourself you probably make more $ doing stuff for other people than you would save, unless you really like doing it yourself, imho

Who tunes for Ford forced induction gas engines? I know there are a ton of diesel tuners. I don't want to get bigger injectors, methane, etc. I just want reliable repeatable power.

Would a 76mm wheel be like a T76 Garret? Or a GT4088? I am still trying to figure this whole turbo nomenclature thing out.

I would think with the larger disp. I would need a T4 exhaust, right?

4.30 gears and a turbo is not a good idea. Turbo's like higher gear ratios engine working harder on take off makes more exasut, more exaust makes turbo spool faster, witch = more HP

A roots/twin screw is ideal for towing, and centrifugal/turbo really is not. You say you want power down low? That is exactly what a turbo does NOT do well. Even if you get a whole setup for $1000 (my guess it will cost you at least $3000 when all is said and done), it will still be something that doesn't fulfill your requirements.

I would go with the Whipple.

Tell me the difference between a 60-1 and at T67 and a GT 4088.

I have stock tires with the 4.30's, but was considering going to 285's or 295's to get the ratio back down. 295's will get me close to 4.10's.

I would not worry too much about the gears until you get to drive with the turbo. 3.73s might be better but you should have plenty of load available to build boost.

You could use the T67, it would spool quickly with your displacement. I think there are a few site sponsors that sell turbos, check to your right.>

well I think I have put together a package for my DIY rear mount turbo kit. I will be doing the fab myself with my buddies TIG machine. I used to be a very good tig welder once upon a time.

T67 turbo $1000
return oil pump $240
Tial 38mm wastegate with flanges $215
Used powerstroke intercooler $150+/-
turbo turbine flanges/bandclamps $60
Misc tubing, silicone boots, hose, clamps, etc $400
Unforseen bullshat $500

All for around 2500 bucks.. $2000 with no problems!!!! The STS universal kit with small turbo, no intercooler is $3000.

It's cool that you can fab your own stuff, take some pictures of what you build. Are you going to runs cats and/or a muffler?

I think you will need larger injectors and a possible fuel pump upgrade. The injectors will require some sort of a tune to scale them correctly, do you know what size your stock injectors are?

You may want a blow off valve also.

It looks like the injectors are 19lb. I was thinking of going to 30lb. They are readily available and I will also have to get a MAF because the stock one is a rig from the factory that wont accept a clamp on style hose on the intake side.

I was thinking of removing the cat and putting the turbo in its place and leaving the stock muffler in.
