i bought a cam to replace my ruined ls6 cam and it arrived today, its slightly used and when comparing it to my old zo6 cam the stamp is different on the end of the cam, mine actually has a long part number and 3 rows of numbers, this new cam simply has stamped, not printed or etched but stamped into the end of it 5308 i know the ls6 part number ends in 5308 but never heard of that being the only number on the cam. and never saw one stamped into the metal like a crude old fashioned die stamp.

 

I just bought a ls6 cam from scoggin-dickey parts and it was stamped with die, But I am not positive what the numbers were for sure. Never looked that close before i installed it.

 

The two I've had were not stamped the way yours is, had another set of numbers, and a bar code type emblem on them as well. Post pics
