Default Help me get low 12's

Okay so this past year I had a lot happen in my life. Marriage (wife supports my need for speed) a child, a mp 122 blower for the truck.

Anyhow my tune is Nelson mail order I'm thinking (black bear now) I went to the track last fall and ran best of 13.17 spinning for easy 60ft if not more. I plan on M/T et streets this spring to help traction. My question really is my exhaust. I'm running pacesetter long tubes and ORY. To a single stock 2.75" exhaust out. I have a single 3" cutout right at the "Y" and is that efficient enough? Should I go bigger also?

My buddy says to put another smaller pulley on but I don't want to run 12psi I'm running 8-9 now ...I will if I can get my airflow moving and still run 8-9 psi

what= gear, tranny ,converter ,truck style, (rcsb)' cal trac's.what ur 60ft now .with that 112 you are going to need to have a real good tune and 60ft some where around high 1.60's to low 1.70". i can see mid 12' if your truck weigh's 4200-4300

Sorry forgot phone doesn't show sig.

3.73, 65e, 3200 stall, ecsb, 2wd, long bars, 2.038 is my best with this setup. I'm not sure on the weight. The tune is on the list to get fixed. 10.2 afr at wot. And 13degrees of timing I'm seeing.

Lean that thing out some. Shoot for 11.5 on the gas scale. That will bring down in the 12's alone. Also are you running traction bars? If not, I'd get some assassin bars from Smith Racecraft. You could use a little more depending on if you drive on the highway a ton. And what size tire do you plan to run. That will have a lot to do with what gear would match. Sorry for the jumbled message.

Ya I made some long bars that made a huge difference- the tires I was looking at are 29.8" tall and 11" wide m/t et streets- currently running 30.8" street tire 295/45/20 that I replace every year.... Hoping the drag radials will help both traction = less wear

I do run on e-ways to get to the track. I only drive about 2500 miles a year (on the high side)

Thanks for the feed back in advance

Instead of mail order tuning why don't we setup a BS / dyno tune session @ BEI in Utica? TJ does big things

Sounds like you could use some gear then. Do 4.30 or 4.56. The blower will love the gears and will make a big difference at the track. BTW, drag radials will wear out a lot faster than your street tires even if it helps with traction. They are just too soft for street driving.

If you pulley down and add some meth, you'll go low 12's easy.

SYracing what tuning software do you use? Will the PCM be unlocked? I know the tune is really killing me. I have access to efi live. That's why I was thinking black bear tune. To do logs and send them to him so he can update my files.

What is the going rate for Dyno tune anyways

I was scared to buy Mickey Thompson ET streets just for the fact they're so expensive and I don't know how much they wear- thanks for the input on those

EFILive is what I use too. TJ is pretty fair on pricing, if we get a couple trucks together I think he does discounts. Tim Z would know fo sho though, he had a crew of 2-3 doods there with him when I was there last.

PCM won't be locked. He is an HPT guy but I left him my V2 to use.

if hes tuned by allen its more than likely locked, BUT Allen is a great tuner, mail orders are a starting point, would be nice if you had your own software Allen would definitely straighten it out, BUT since you now have SYRacing giving you a lead on a dyno tune theres nothing wrong going that route besides getting your PCM unlocked

i'd get an extra set of tires ( slicks ) change them at the track and let her rip
