I do remember a huge difference from bare stainless to the coating, but didn't have a side by side comparison with a wrapped equivalent
Wrap away. turbo blanket and down pipe and even the manifold. Just dont get all crazy with the over lay.

I guess Ill never know why mine was also so freaking hot I had to go to extreme lengths to keep everything from melting and I have the scars on my arms to prove it.

Stop putting your arms on hot things. lol.
Seriously. It does get hot. I have several scars from the turbine housing pre-blanket days.

I have a trick kit installed for over a year now. Used only what came in the kit. No wrap or coatings on any of the hot pipes. The only thing that has gotten burnt a little is a couple of the plug wires. No other issues with melting. Its my daily driver and im currently running 12psi.

Its called power, generating massive heat. Real world stuff.

I always feared my turbo truck burning down after what happened to you.

I decided I'm going to ceramic coat all the pipes including the drivers manifold and crossover, then just run a blanket on the turbine housing. There doesn't seem to be a permanent wrap out there and I hate stuff that doesn't last. It will be convenient to do now since none of the parts are on the truck, so no downtime

Wrap won't last. But you can get years out of simple stuff.
And if you only do top section of down pipe. Easy enough to swap.

Warning on coating crossover. If the company uses beads to rough or possible pre or post coatings. Plug to crossover. Those little bb's can get stuck inside the liner.

are you referring to the flex tube liner? I didn't think about that

Yes. Depending on the size of the bb's.
The locking liner nothing should get stuck there. But you will want to check.
I have seen them pinched in areas.

My KBRacing PT88 kit was nitroplated in 2011 and still looks new. My previous KB kit was nitroplated in 09 and last i saw it still shined. I wrap all areas near wiring and sensitive areas with DEI titanium, and no problems yet (knocking on wood).
