a set of stock 6.0 heads might be a good bang for the buck if you got them cheap enough but i wouldn't buy heads unless you are steping up to a complete 6 bolt set up with an lsx block. the return on your money isn't that great.
what is the lsa on the cam you have?

Find a 6.0L with low miles in the bone yard. You'll get better heads and more cubes for not much more than what you'll pay for a set of ported heads. Your cam in a 6.0 with 7+ psi = really nasty. You don't need to get exotic with the heads when you have a huffer on the intake side

I don't think you want to put heads from a big bore motor on a small bore motor. Ported small bore heads would be a much better choice if you insist on swapping heads. Again, cubes rule. Replace that 4.8 with a 6.0 and you'll get more cubes, better heads, and a much bigger $hit eatin grin on your face.........for not much more money than a set of ported heads. The 220 cam is a whole lot of cam for a 4.8, but a nice fit for a 6.0 (I have a 220/581 cam in my 6.0 motivated truck). Also, the 6.0 could be the basis for that stroker motor you're eventually going to. The 4.8 and 5.3's need not apply if you're going for big cubes.

I doubt it. They don't even put that tranny behind 5.3's. I bet you could tear it up with your turboed 4.8 if you're not careful.

Depending on what your pushing now and the plan of a bigger motor in the future, I wouldn't spend $$ on a set of heads yet.Simply because they won't work right on both motors and you'll just waste $$.
