I did the v6 studs years ago

Have a machine shop belt sand the flange flat. It will likely warp again, just the nature of the beast. Use only GM MLS gasket and no silicone.

I thought about using silicone but then I have to worry about scraping the surfaces clean after, thats why I liked the factory gaskets
Yeah it will warp again. I've had to mill them a few times. Need to get Kyle on that 1/2" flange bandwagon lol.

Dorman - Help Exhaust Stud Kit - M10-1.5 x 62mm 03142: Advance Auto Parts

these show on certain sites as a factory replacement for the GM 6cyl

M10 x 1.5. Is that what will work with our trucks?

They will move around bit from time to time., like Jake said, nature of the beast going from cold to very HOT 1000's of times! I belt sand them before they leave the shop but have just used a big file on them before too. MS files pretty easy and it shows you the high spots right away.

I think those are the right thread and size Rob. I might go pick those up, I only have issues with the turbo manifold so I was only gonna put studs on that side for the moment anyways. The only thing I wonder is are they gonna bottom out in the cylinder head before they run out of threads?

I just got these in yesterday I hope they'll solve my problem.

Yes that is one gasket...

I had a friend put some on his 350 in his square body on a ancient set of cheap headers that are probably very warped and no leaks yet....

Check out remflex gaskets. They are pretty thick and the compress. I used them all over the place on my turbo.

Yep. I tried just using rtv there but i kept blowing it out. That remflex gasket held nicely. Just remember they are not reusable and dont over TQ them. Each gasket comes with TQ amounts.
