I have the blower off now to do the 90mm conversion and was thinking about doing a H/C package. Been doing some poking around and was going with patriot III 6.0 heads and maybe the GT2-3 cam or a similar one.
My truck has 90K miles on it and has bee kinda low on power. I could never really figure out the problem but thought maybe it was the stock valves/springs and figure I'd upgrade. Did a comp test last year and values seemed consistant. Thought I could upgrade my iron heads to some aluminum ones. Looking for comments/suggestions. I'd like to wake it up a little bit. I don't have headers or a converter but looking to do them in the future. Should I bother with an H/C package right now?
Thanks

If I were in your shoes I would put a set of 243's on to bump the compression up a bit and shed the weight of the iron heads. The gt2-3 would be a great cam, or if you plan to keep the stock exhaust manifolds (or N2O down the road) the gt7 may be even better due to the increased exhaust duration.

I'd just try to get more boost out of it and cam it vs. swapping heads if it were me. My boost car makes stupid amounts of power out of just 243 heads with dish pistons, you'd be in the same boat with stockers on LQ4's. Right around 9.5 right?

Don't bother with the heads. A mild cam, smaller pulley, and a set of long tubes would give you a good boost. The 112 radix won't pump enough air to support much more on a 6.0. Those mods will give you a stump puller, tire melter, and shiteatingrin maker. It will pull like a built big block and still be reasonable on the fuel.

I was just consideing that a cam would need springs, retainers, and seals. figured I get all that with the heads but then would need gaskets and head bolts. Would stock gaskets and head bolts be ok to use? How bout the lifters. Should I replace them too?
What would 243s bump the compression to if I went with those instead?
Rethinking about the heads now. If I just do the cam and headers, would I need new injectors? Think I might be at the max with my Radix ones. I believe they are only 42s.
Thanks

A head swap will get you little if any extra HP. I you want to shave off a few pounds, alum heads will do that. The injectors that came with your radix might be a little light for the 6.0. If you add a cam and long tubes, you'll probably need to upgrade the injectors too.
