I allready made the mess. Thanks for the offer though, I almost bought one of those at wallmart, but I got a kids pool instead which didn't work. The pisholes, and cylinders look good. You can still see my dingelball marks. I allready got the heads surfaced this morning, they were warped a quite a bit. I know it was the bolts streching because each low spot was where a long bolt is. The ends were the worst. I orderd a set of GM gaskets & ARP studs next day. I might take a swipe or two with the grinder tonight if Im in the mood. Nothing big just about 15-20 min a head. You should bring your truck down to pueblo this saturday, I plan on running my truck. Even if you don't run you could watch the rest of my **** blow up.

If your worried about a mees you just use a wet vac and suck the antifreeze out of the motor.Thats what we do and doesn't leak a drop. Make sure you torque those studs good.I like 80ft/lbs with the ARP lube.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering what I should torque them too. Next time I will go buy a cheep shop vac. I just didn't want the coolant smell in my new craftsman.

How much timing were you running? Any Kr? How much kpa of intake pressure? Was this the first time the heads were pulled?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just doing a little research lol.

Sucks to hear about the truck.

17 deg of timing, no KR most boost I have seen is 18PSI @5000' elevation, I don't know the KPA. The heads were pulled when I first got the engine. It was a warranty engine core from the dealership. It had two small pistons that I replaced. I ran the engine in my old 2000 Z71 for about 4 years. The heads were lightly surfaced, and new TTY head bolts were used with GM gaskets. All bolt holes were tapped and cleaned, and heads were torqued down folowing GM peocedure. The heads, and gaskets actually looked good when I pulled them off. The water was leaking from the block side at the end CYL #7. Im starting to think maybe it wasn't as bad off as I thought. The leak at the front of the engine was from the Tstat housing. The head was seeping a little in back. I just looked under my neighbors truck, and it looks the same way or worse. Im just cautious, and was afraid the cooling system was getting pressurized and making the T stat leak. By the surface on the heads they had to be moving around, but appeared sealed. Guess Im better safe than sorry, just hope a piston doesn't let go now.
