Gauges for Radix...
#11
I had boost, IAT, A/F, and fuel pressure gauges. All I really need is boost and IAT. A/F is too inaccurate (I now data log with a wideband O2) and fuel pressure is a holdover from FMU days. At first I had them on the A-pillar, but I find it too distracting, particularly at night. After the novelty wore off, I wanted them more out of the way. Now, I have the two in the overhead like the SoCalDiesel bracket. I made it using the blank to trace on a piece of 1/8 aluminum. Cut the two 2 inch holes first, then traced the blank, cut with a sawsall, filed to size, and painted black. Two screws on the top hold it. (Camera broke, sorry no picture)

They have splinters for the cables so you can use more than one gauge at a time so I guess you could use one gauge and a scanner.
there is a pic of the back of the gauge on thier website in the pdf installation file .
Not sure how it measures intake pressure.
also, i didn't see any reference to afr's.

If it has provisions for aftermarket equipment you might be able to get boost and AFR's out of it, but in stock form the truck doesn't have the ability to measure either one. The 1-bar MAP sensor will only measure vacuum, and the stock O2's are narrow band, which won't tell you AFR. You can upgrade to a 2-bar MAP sensor and install a wideband O2 sensor, but you would need different equipment to monitor those.

Nice setup Blaster.
I think what I will do is ....
To start add a boost gauge, fp I can check with OTC scanner at work and if it looks OK, it shouldn't need constant monitoring. IAT will change all the time anyway and I can check that periodically with the scanner.
I'll add a wide band in the not too distant future, I think afr is the most important
thing to watch and gives an indication of possible issues with iats and fuel pressure as well.
Does that make sense?
anyone know if k/n fipk will fit radix inlet tube?
