I've got no problem running a "cheap" turbo as long as I'm not replacing them every 5000 miles. Is this the turbo you're talking about from on3?

as for 91 octane you would be limited to timing but depending on setup that may not be such a bad thing....that ls3 made 744 on 8*
George, does on3 make any turbos with a bigger turbine? That 76/65 may be a little small on the exhaust side for that 6.2 on a single setup?

That's good to know! I just looked at their site.... They even have a 78/76.. And it's on sale! I may get one and use it on the dyno to compare my precision turbo to!

Jordan, would that 78/76 work for my 6.2 or would it be too small?

I think it would do just fine, for what you're trying to do!

sorry i thought their 7876 was the 7675 as its a more common turbo

but with said the 7876 will do job many ppl want, its when you shoot for stars is when you should consider other options for turbines

if going cheap route the on3 Pt88 is a nice option as it has a bigger turbine wheel

Based on what you posted, you don't need any more than a 72mm turbo. Don't go bigger on the turbo than what's needed unless you want something laggy with more power potential.

Solid posts.

I agree the only thing your motor needs is injectors. Stick with pump gas for 500 wheel.

I see an average of 21 rwhp per psi of boost and it took 12 psi to make ~500 on my stock 5.3 4x4. Your engine should come factory with about 85 more rwhp. With that all being said I think a stock 6.2 on pump would need 8-9 psi to break 500 wheel.

Turbo size. If you only want 500 wheel, stick to a mid 70s mm turbo. Trick's stage 3 kit with an upgraded Race intercooler would be a good choice. You only need a few pounds and it would be instant power. My little 70 does an amazing job for my power needs. Feel free to check out my youtube videos "70mm Z71".

Good luck and keep us updated.
