Default Fuel pump dead... possibly

I couldnt find a good section for it, but i know there's a lot of radix guys here so...

Since my fuel gauge blows, i ran out of gas again. Now my walbro inline fuel pump sounds like it has a deeper tone and isnt quite as steady sounding. Do you think it's dead? I would check it with a fuel pressure gauge, but i dont have one. I know not to boost until i get it figured out, but what do you guys think? Dead or alive?

My pump makes different noises form time to time but the fuel pressure is always okay. With that I agree with Mort. You cannot gauge pump performance based upon the sound its making. Put a gauge to it.

eh. it sounds fine now. I'm gonna go to my old high school tomorrow, run into the auto tech room, and ****** their fuel pressure gauge because i couldnt find one to borrow today. (... or yesterday was it?). Then, make a run in front of the school, then return it w/ a $5 bill taped to it.
