hes talking rear mount sizes....

Like me and ben (silver-mod-o) have BOTH mentioned to each other on the phone, Im honestly more impressed with my part throttle power than WOT. Its faster WOT but something about the added PT is just crazy. And my IATs with meth STAY ambient.

There's something to be said for a small, light car! I drove a 98 escort ZX2 for a couple days, and that thing definitely had better throttle response and part throttle pep on the highway than my truck. Of course, WOT was no comparison. Anyways, I don't forsee myself driving anything but a truck in the near future.

a 70mm with a .68 would spool fast up front. and for only 6psi it wouldnt be a heat pump. once in boost the only thing that the throttle changes is shift points

It's preference. You can show a die hard SC guy the best turbo int he world that outperforms and SC and he'll still stay SC and vice versa. I personally hate how most radix' die up top and are too jerky down low.

You're in St. Louis; if you want to take a ride in a 6000 lb pig and see how an MP112 and TT2600 runs, come on out to O'Fallon (MO).

you dont want to get too small of a turbo but then again you dont want to get one thats too big..

its all a vicious circle.
Good call the 70 would would be perfict for 10PSI on a 6.0L. I'd stick with the .96Ar on front mount. I run a .68 on my TC76 sometimes and it's allways in boost, and the compressor surges everytime you let off the throttle, just under normal driving. The .96 spools almost as quick and doesn't boost until you get into the throttle.

I ran the STS 60-1 turbo on my front mount, thinking it would be better for part throttle performance. I guess I made a wrong assumption, because I honestly wasn't impressed till it hit about 2500 RPM. Mind you, I have 3.23 gears so 2500 RPM is going pretty fast. Too much gear to "tug" on. I would do 3.73 if I did it again in the future.
I was a blast to drive though. I ran it at 10psi with no IAT problems. But I think the little turbine housing choked the engine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the way it runs, but reliability comes into play.

The deal with a turbo is, you have to take care of every detail in the beginning so you don't have any nagging voices in your head. Heat issues, Rubbing issues, hose issues, oiling issues, pan tapping issues, A/C issues. Everyone of these can be taken care of 100%. BUT, if you take any shortcuts, you will always be a little worried about driving it across country, or even to work...
This includes the transmission. 4l80e is a smart choice.

This is Bill Reid's for sale thread, but look at his build thread. He did turbo right IMO.

The main question for me is, would I drive the setup across country?

For a DD I think the TVS supercharger would be the best I have had two Magnason supercharged Trucks one was my 2001 Suburban and I put over 100,000 miles on the supercharger and there was absolutly no maintenance at all required, it was driven all over the country and was my wife's DD.

The other is my 2005 GMC Sierra and it has the Radix MP112 and has been trouble free for 51,000 miles so far and I beat the crap out of it daily and its my DD. and BTW this one is pulley'd down to a 2.9 and there was some belt slip issues but not now with the new HD tensioner, but the stock Radix kit is trouble free.

I have a few freinds with Turbo's on cars and trucks and they are allways having problems, Wastegates, oil leaks, compressor seal leaks, boost controlers, cracked exhaust, Oil pumps for the turbo, burnt plug wires or other wires, so for a DD I say the Magnason kits are the most complete and most reliable.
