I'm looking at rebuilding my 6.0 and make it a 370 well I have been reading and at of people say the crank should hold 1k hp I don't need that much at all. So my question is should I get the forged rods? I'm looking at scat or eagle. I'm also going with new pistons.

You should be able to get away with the stock crank, stock late model rods, and some good pistons. There are obviously lots of guys that get along fine with stock everything. Im sure stock pistons could be fine, but the problem with stock pistons is when they let go, it is like a bomb going off. It will usually take out everything. If a good forged piston breaks down, you could often times get away with just a single piston.
With that said, I went with an Eagle crank, Callies Compstar rods, and Wiseco pistons.

I absolutely hate when someone mentions "cheap insurance". If you buy all of the cheap insurance that's available, you "insure" that you're going to spend a whole lot of money. Believe it or not, even with all that insurance, your motor can still **** the bed. If you know that you'll never experience detonation, or maybe a bad tank of fuel, or maybe a fuel pump that gets weak, or maybe some dumb *** filling your tank with 87, etc. You get the picture. Stock crank, forged rods, and forged pistons. That's the ticket. Just keep the power level somewhere south of 1k
