Default FMIC....arrgh..help!!

Okay I have searched the forum and just get more confused on which way to go. I am putting together my turbo set-up so far I have a Turbonetics T-76 and am going to be using KBRacing hot pipes(bov, wastegate) I just can't seem to figure out which intercooler to go with. I sit on ebay and search and find mostly 2.5" in/out...25x11x3 is this enough or do I need to go 3" in/out and a 4" core depth...then I read how the ebay ones do not flow that great?? but for the price (Just-Intercoolers, CXRacing, Boostmasters) it's hard not to go with one of them...Please help...I am thinking on writing up a sticky where we can post our cold side set-up and its functionality then post it so others can be informed with just one post, thanks guys.

Different truck....but I run a ebay intercooler(24x12x4} 4" thick....3" inlet and outlet. Your cold side piping should be 3" to your throttle body.

Have you asked kbracing for one? Since your getting the hot parts from him.
I learned its best to do it right the first time. Instead of doin it a few times with cheap parts.

I run a 31x12x4 cxracing intercooler. It seems to work fine. I haven't had the turbo long to see how it does during the summer. But when me and my tuner were logging, the IATs seemed to stay low.

Where is your IC mounted, behind the grill??

I kinda want to mount mine down low, since I have a truCool tranny cooler that takes up most of the useable room behind the grill. My only issue with either one down low is that the GMT900 tahoes do not have any opening to allow airflow it looks like I am going to have to cut the bumper to allow air thru it, just figuring out now how to do that and make it look like it belongs.

This might help you some...maybe...

As for the size, I made 543 to the wheels with my front mount, 3" core with 2.5 inlet/outlet, but on meth. I just stepped it up to 3" piping on the cold side right out of the IC.

31x12x3 eBay cooler here, 3 in 3 out. Mounted behind the grille with the tranny cooler mounted down low.

Behind the grill is best but if not possible then down low. Might want to hit KB up since he would have the core, piping all figured out. Would save you a huge amount of time and guess work.

I would move the tranny cooler, and put the IC behind the grill. You might be able to fit both up there. I know we have used 4" cores in truck set ups. So a 3" plus a tranny cooler should fit.
