Default FI cam opinions

I have a stock bottom end 6.0 with long tubes, TEA stage 3 317's cut to 66cc, and an EPS cam. I recently found a magnacharger and am wondering how this cam will work with boost. It has 218/226 duration at .050 on a 115 LSA with 4 degrees advance ground in. Valve lift is .598/.596. This engine is installed in my 2000 2500 with a yank 2500 stall. It is a DD and does some significant towing. Any thoughts?

I think it will all work together just fine.

Hell i ran my blower with a reverse split turbo cam and it ran good, but even better after i switched to a blower cam.

Run what ya got, have fun, then upgrade if needed.

I agree, it should work pretty well for you. Get it done, and let us know what you think of it.

It will run well. I'm sure if you had a cam spec'd for your set up with this blower it would come back pretty different, but that doesnt mean this current set up wont run really well.

What maggie is it?

Its an older Radix with very few miles. It should make towing my 28ft toy hauler a breeze.

Not much "wrong" with that cam in a heavy truck. With the maggie on top, the advance ground in to the cam probably isn't necessary with specs that mild. If you like how it drove n/a, you'll really like how it operates with a little positive manifold pressure.

Yeah, I thought about an adjustable timing set to retard the cam 4 degrees. Is it worth it or not? I would love to grab your cam that is for sale, but cash is getting a little tight, lol.

I don't know that it would make enough difference to be worth fooling with. A little extra low end pull is rarely a bad thing when you're trying to move a heavy assed truck. What does your truck weigh? 5500 or so?

That cam is fairly similar to mine and mine works great IMO. I have a bit more exhaust duration and a 114.5 LSA +2 advance. Mine has good lowend and pulls to at least 6400. 6400 is as high as I have spun it but it didnt fall off any. I say run it.

Im sure its all of that. Ive never weighed it, or raced it and prob never will. I was just tired of the damn thing struggling with a 9k bumper pull camper and 14k worth of stock trailer and livestock so I started tweaking it. It actually does a pretty nice job right now NA, but a blower will be the icing on the cake. If it only had 4.10 gears, lol. The mods never end.
