6.0 would be fun, but if you wanna spend 3200 on a long block for a little more you can do an engine with forged internals.

thats not bad...my cuzin said he knows where to get an 408 for 5000...good buy?and a tranny frm performabuilt LV2 n 2800 stall like 3000...? will that work? hope it dont kill me to bad in gas

you're gonna have to knock it off with all this "fast, fun, & powerful with good gas mileage" mess ain't gonna happen... at least not the way you're talkin. maybe a healthy turbo with a t-56 for double overdrive would get ya there, but definitely not a blown 408 with a stall & low gears

lol...i know it wont get great but 16city 20 hi is ok....im thing bout doing this c what yall think....408, buit tranny with 2800 stall tune long tubes with stright pips ,k&n ,maf sensor..intake,3.73...?what yall think?

Dude, just make a decision on what setup you want to run. Then ask for our help to "fine tune it." It's simple, just start with the engine. TC or SC your 5.3, a 6.0, or a 408. Or you could run a naturally aspirated gas-guzzling 408. Pick one!?!?

Then stick with the 5.3, beef up the drivetrain, and order one of kbracing's turbo kits. Problem solved. You'll still get ~20mpg highway as long as you stay out of boost.
