I buy m1 meth from VP from teh speedshop for about 50-65 a can.......or I leave a few and throw the owner some cash on the side and he cuts me in on his drums for less, and the drag strip is even less (methanol is a race fuel, find a race fuel distributor and you're set)

I run the methanol straight with dual nozzles in the 346 boost vette. Since the sub is daily driver/tow rig etc. I didn't want to rely on having a constant supply like the vette so its non-meth. I was also told run it straight, you never know with a mix the age of it to start and tons of other variables

Oil in the A/F mix lowers the octane.

2 cycle in a 4 stroke engine can't be a good thing

Here is a shot in the dark but have any of you FI guys tried some sort of toluene injection instead of methanol? Toluene was used extensively during the 80's in formula one before the turbo cars were banned. It had consistently made over 1000 Hp per liter with the high boost engines. I am just throwing this out there because you can get 5 gallons of toluene at almost any of you local paint shops (sherwin williams etc) for about 35-40 bucks.
Just another thought for us to chew on

Another note found on wikipedia (not the best source, I know) shows methanol at 113 octane and toluene at 114. It would be interesting to see which gives the most bang for the buck. I dont know if solubility with water is an issue or not. It might be better for a 100% system. sorry for the thread jacking.

i get my meth at the race shop for $3.50/gal. might have gone up since last year. when i had it on my truck i ran quite a bit of it and pulled fuel to get the tune right. the more you run the more boost you can get away with. i feel safe up to 9psi intercooled but still watch for knock. without pulling fuel and just adding some meth maybe 10 or 11 psi. above that i think you will have to add enough meth that you will want to tune some of the regulur fuel out of it.

i was running up to 14psi with pump gas and a fair amount of meth. with a 408 that was around 700rwhp.

on the tolulen or xylene. i ran some of that stuff in my tank mixed with the regulur fuel. i ran it at as high as a 33% mix. with a whipple i was able to run at least 3psi more than before but never did find out the limit. seemed to work well but it did kill my 02's after about 50 gallons. probably no better or worse than leaded race gas. never thought of using it like meth injection.

there are benifits to running meth in a na set up but you need to run a lot of it to make any diference. like use it as your primary fuel source. i can't find the link right now but it was something like 10% more power than gasoline on an na set up.

Yeah, 10% more power, but 100% more fuel.

I have some Tolulene ( Spelling) sitting here, once It gets decent out I am going to try a few things just with small amounts mixed in the fuel.
