Default exhaust set up for procharger

Well the time is finally coming to where I'm adding boost to the truck, I've tamed down the converter and now have a billet triple disc, scored a lsxrt for a hell of a deal but now it's on to exhaust and fuel system before the procharger comes in. For the ones that don't know my truck it's a tfs headed 4.8. Currently I'm running a single 3.5 through two race mufflers but I'm really considering running an 3"x pipe setup. Just figured I'd see some of your guys opinions since I've never played with boost lol.

Thanks in advance

T.J.

With a procharger, almost always the bigger the better. I wouldn't be too concerned about "over exhausting" it.

That 3.5" exhaust should be plenty. Bigger won't hurt, but won't help much unless you plan on push a ton of power. With a 4.8 I doubt you reach a restriction point on a proper 3.5" exhaust. What is your current Header/ypipe setup? I would expect more gains to be found there.

I have a less efficient magnacharger running 7 lbs in my 4.8. I have true dual 3 inch dumped right before the axle with some dynomax race bullets in there. Don't fear the flow! It is really freaking loud though.

Current set of headers are obx lts into a mandrel 2 3/4 y pipe to a mandrel 3.5 intermediate pipe to a moroso spiral flow to a dynatech split flow. Due to my header flanges being messed up I did order new tsp headers and y

Think the new headers and y will be sufficient or should I just go duals with an x? I'll still be na for a short while but wouldn't mind trying it out

ive made over 500 rwhp with the stock cat back with a muffler swap, your little 4.8 will be fine with what you have. No need to over think something

i did swap to a 4" exhaust and gained a little at same boost level
