Exhaust Manifold temps, one side hotter than the other?
#1
Sleeper is finally up and running. I am using two Turbonetics T60-1 with .58 ar's. The 3" down pipe from each turbo leaves the enging bay and they are merged into a single 5" exhaust. I am using a F.A.S.T. computer that is set up for bank to bank firing. The engine starts good, idles well and has great throttle response. While warming it up at 1800 rpm to put on the dyno I noticed that the passenger side exhaust manifold was starting to turn orange and the drivers side still looked cool. The injectors were removed and flow tested and put back in at random order. The problem is still there, the passenger side header rums about 50% warmer than the drivers side throughout the temp range. Has anyone heard of this before and any suggestions if a fix is needed?

They mystery was finally solved. A pulse width check while running revealed a weak and intermittent pulse on two cylinders on the passenger side. This was causing raw fuel to dump into the exhaust manifold. The problem was finally traced to a corroded connection between the FAST computer and it’s interface to the Dodge harness. It looks like water had entered at one point and this connection effected two cylinders. It runs great now and will be on the dyno Friday.
