Why teflon coating and not ceramic coating? Great pics and info too Grippy, helps to have a visual when understandiing how these suckers work.

I think the teflon coating has a lower coeffecient of friction than ceramic.

The APC allows for the rotors to "wear" into each other. Once that process is done, (usually within a few minutes on the test bench before shipping) there is almost zero clearance between the lobes on the rotors.....Hello efficiency.

Ceramic coating would not work well at all.

FYI it is not "teflon" coating on the newer EATON rotors, it is an abradeable powdercoat (APC).
