Default engine missfire with sts

i have a 2001 silverado with the basic sts kit and stock motor. my check engine like went on and cyl. 2 & 7 are misfiring i have the stock spark plugs in and they are the ngk ac delco tr-5 . I pulled them out and they where fine what could of happin ?

Why are you using stock spark plugs? You should be running at least 1 heat ranger colder and gapping them at around .035 to be safe.

Try changing to TR6 plugs and see if that helps the situation.

Also look for all the obvious signs like water in the oil, blowing of smoke, oil pressure, etc etc. Hopefully you didn't break anything

dammmmmmm my oil looked like a milkshake but only at the oil return nothin at the dip stick am going to run a compression test today what should i do for the future to aviod this crapppppppppp

yup i blew the motor with that sts kit what the hell can i do know i have to rebuild but i dont want it to blow again???? what do i do ?

it depends on how fast you want to go. that piston broke for a reason, your tune had to be off and the hoter plugs didn't help either.

one cheap way to go and gain some power would be just a stock 6.0swap. i would put valve springs in it but other than that just slap it in and WATCH YOUR TUNE!

What a great idea!! Valve springs, a cam while it's out, hardened pushrods, rod bolts if you want to spin the rpm's a little higher...very easy stuff to do while the engine is on the stand.

i think am going to rebuild the 5.3 but am thing a valve spring got fucked with the compression. what valve springs should i get? and some other goodies so it wont blow and a good tune shop i can go to. (maybe banks) i need some help am only 18 with little money and big dreams so if anyone can get me a good list so i dont blow this thing?????
