Egt Safe Limits For 70mm 6.0l
Just Woundering What I Am Going To Expect On A 05 Serria Denali 70mm Front Mount Turbo Setup?? I Want To Know What Is Normal, Safe, And Unsafe So I Know What To Look For. I Really Wantto Keep Everything Safe So I Dont Melt Down This Truck.
I Am Also Looking To Tow Too, What Egt Temps Have People Seen Pulling Big Trailers Long Distance???

Not trying to Jack the thread but i scratch built a front mount 70mm that worked great on the 5.3. Now swapping to 6.0 aswell looking for a quick spooling 550 rwhp street ride. Looking for the same info!

I agree with the above. EGT is very misleading.
I would never go above 1400 degrees pre-turbo. drop at least 200 degrees post turbo.
The reason its misleading is that you'll be sitting at 1400 just tooling down the road at low throttle (14.7 AFR) and you can sit at 1400 degrees under full throttle (11.0 AFR) depending on timing. intake and cams can also drastically change this. I dropped 200 degrees on a 4 cylinder back in the day to a total egt of 1200 but still toasted the engine due to too much timing.
Most hurt there engines right before or at peak torque, which your EGT will be too slow to catch.
