it would actually have decent boost below 4,000 engine rpm..

Decent boost compared to.. hah my D1 makes boost off idle.. hmm..

It had ARP head studs, its the thickness of the deck on the stock GM head that is the problem, aftermarket heads with thick deck is what it needs.

Whats your boost pressure at idle and what is it at say 6k rpm? Anywhere close?

What exactly is the deck thickness? So this means that any stage III head work done to the stock 6L heads isn't good enough to hold 12#'s of boost or more with the new TVS?

All I know is we had stock 5.3 truck heads at 14 lbs with ARP studs (properly installed ) with MLS gaskets and the head was lifting and blowing exhaust out between the head and block. We took the heads off and you can see that they were lifting in between the studs, no leakage around the studs just in the middle between them.
