Default easy 1psi of boost mod?

Kinda weird, i decided to take the lid off my volant air box and made a full 1psi more boost than i was before i took the lid off? i wonder if there would be any more gain or benefit if i went to a airraid intake or outlaw intake? anybody ever experiece anything like this before?

I think Blowchevy saw more boost with this radix when he went to a open element intake. I could be wrong but i think he posted soemthing about it.

Don/t forget, the Outlaw is in a sealed box, too. It seals to the fender, and gets its air thru the fender opening. It doesn't have a lid you can remove.

Is this the new updated Volant box or the old generation. The old airbox was proven to be detrimental to the Radix's performance.

Baseline dyno with stock air box and K&N drop in.

432.7/456.8

Test Pull with AirAid CAI

444.7/459.1

These tests were back to back matching IAT/Coolant temps on both pulls.

This proves a 12 rwhp gain from the AirAid. I must say I am very pleased with the results from a 25 min mod, it truly complements the Radix system. I really makes the blower sound more aggressive at WOT, and we all know louder is better

Special thanks to the Guys at The Dyno Store, they are some of the most professional guys I have delt with to date. I will be using them in the future for all of my dyno testing, we all know its best to use the same dyno for testing! www.thedynostore.info

just wondering if i would see any gains going to the AirRaid or not? My volant box is not open in the front where if i took off my head light it wouldn't help becuase the box wall is there. since the airraid is open completely (from what i can tell by the pics) i could take out my headlight at the track and have almost a ram air setup
