Yes, you should be able too. I would be If I could get it, but down where you are should be easy to come by. Look for RUNN over on tech, he did a whole write up and tuning his Camaro to run on E85 over in Sweden.

Thanks! There is a station with E85 a couple miles from my house. Did you make it to AZ yet?

Should be able to, with one slight glitch. Now I am not sure of all the bells and whistles envolved with E85 on the new trucks, but you computer will have to know which fuel in in the tank. Other wise if you switch back to reg. unleaded there will be a problem.
Also any part that was not spec'd for E85 has to change. Lines etc.
Its so cold up where you are, youmight have cold start issues. I know thats why they put 15% gasoline, just throwing it out there.

It may be cheaper but your milage will get cut in half, so you'll end up spending the same amount of money.

Mileage doesnt get cut in half, there is 30% less energy content in a gal of E85, but the real world reports are about a 10-12% drop in mileage, but about a 5% increase in power on NA setups when tuned for it because of the 105 octane rating. I have researched this a lot and really want to do it, but I never live any where where I have access to it on a regular bases. You can run it with only change 1 table in the tune, but to maximize it you should do some tweaking to others. The fuel systems in these truck are capable of handling it.

It is harder to start in cold weather, but some tuning tweeks can help that.

Do you really think GM would use parts that fail with 85% ethanol when there going to build both systems and even the non-FF vehicles have to be able to run 10-15% ethanol? There are quite a few people that have done conversations with after market injector modifier boxes only and I haven't heard of any that have had fuel system component failure problems.

I really think there is some gains to be had especially being forced inducted with this fuel. This is something I REALLY want to do, just to do it!

E85 should be thought of as an economical mild racing fuel... not a mileage booster or cost effective alternative to regular gasoline..

However, it is better for the environment... but not like anyone here really cares..
