Default dumb question.

Is there any way the turbo could be taking to much oil pressure away from the lifters, I dont see how cause the engine has fine oil pressure but i have a lifter knock that comes and gos, sometimes I hear nothing sometimes I hear it clearly in the cab, I dont have any restricter in the oil line. I just figered id throw it out there before pulling the heads AGAIN! I know vary little about turbos so I just need someone to tell that this couldnt be the problem. thanks.

My lifters took a **** shortly after my turbo. I had 95k on them and 40k was with a cam with .600/.605 lift. So idk for sure cause of failure. But it also screwed up my cam. Might be a good idea to replace them if you already haven't replaced the lifters.

The lifters are still stock, I knew i should of replaced them but doing a budget build you always try to save money were you shouldnt. Im thinking of putting a restricter in the turbo and maybe trying a thicker oil to see if it helps, running 10-30 might try 10-40??

I run 15-40 in the summer in my truck. Shouldn't hurt anything unless it causes issues with the turbo.

Yeah thinking of doing the same, from what I read the oil runs a bit hotter with a turbo aswell so the thicker oil shouldnt hurt, just need to let her worm up a little longer when its cold.
