Default Dual 255 Walbro or modified fuel sending unit in tank... come inside ?

well if you have a modified sending unit with dual walbros n tank how dose it work with less than a quart and almost empty? low fuel. Well its because when my tank is getting empty less than a quart and i flore it i my fuel pressure drops real quik and it kinda back fires.. So i gess its the fuel, i havent tryed it with more than a quart because my truck is always parked. i had a accident and it getting painted at the moment...ok so it idles at 58 psi its just when i test drive it ard the block its when it dose this. Anyone think of sumthing.
im running a single walbro bu the sening unit its not stock its all cut up now so it wont reserve the fuel from he drain like stock. i also have FPR set at 58psi idle with 60lbs. injectors. PT88 turbocharged with 8 psi just for right now

The setup would be the same way as you are now. I try not to get down unless I am better then a 1/4 tank. If I do (or have in the past not no more) it would suck line dry. So I don't play unless I have almost a half tank

I never let my tank get below 1/4. I actually don't like letting it get much below 1/2.

it sucks but you need to have 1/2 tank to beat on it. i was able to suck air at 3/8 tank.

if i were to do something like that again i would look into some type of surge tank where the stock pump and pick up just feed a 2-3 gallon surge tank and then off of that you use a couple of inline external pumps to feed to the front. the surge tank would be sealed and you would still fill the truck up normaly.

^^^ yup thats what it is probably, i was testing out my truck with less than 1/4 tank or meybee it was on empty when it was backfireing and the uel pressure will drop. Its like if it would shut of the fuel pump and back fire but not that loud like a normal backfire. its weared and the furl pressure in my guage it will drop quik. I'll fill the ak to about half tank and try it out later on... thanks for the info guys.

Has anybody looked into making a new bucket? I would think that if you fab up a bigger bucket out of SS tube that's big enough to accept both pumps, you'd be able to run the tank lower.

I will never run my tank passed 1/4 and never hammer on it passed a 1/2. I launched it hard a little over a 1/4 tank and saw a/f lean out really quick and got out of it right away. Never agian lol, just have to remind anyone that drives it about fuel level.

I wounder if there is a way to have the low fuel light come on a 1/4 tank.

In HPT if you go to the fuel system tab, and then the Fuel Gauge Output vs. Level table, you'll be able to play with it so it'll read empty at 1/4 tank.

I can't imagine how annoying it must be for you guys, having to fill up every 1/2 tank. Or not being able to floor it at least 25% of the time.

I'd be interested in swapping for a modified or custom bucket. It's on my list of things to look at someday
