$25K+ is my guess. Start looking for 1ton front springs and a 2.73 gearset .

I still don't understand how this can be a "drop in" deal. Unless they're going to produce not only an engine that will bolt in, but a transmission, a rear end too. What about all the wiring? What about the fuel lines and pump? Even if they thought this through and made it a kit (which will drive the price up even more), it still would be one hell of an affair. I hope you guys all have plasma cutters, this won't be a Radix install. The instructions would have to be as long as a dissertation.

I say buy a wrecked diesel and take your 1/2 ton, put them side by side and go from there in transfering everything over. Add some spring load, brace the frame, chop cut and weld.

You mean a walboro 255 won't work? It's only 28,000 psi? I talked to a guy locally who bought a rollover crash D-max and swapped the whole drivetrain into a gas 2500HD. I am sure he could have bought a good D-max truck for the amount of work involved to swap everything. If I wanted a Banks D-max truck I would find a high milage RCLB, swap motors and cut the rear frame to fit a short bed.

Well obviously it isn't going to be plug and play, but it should prove to be a fun alternative to what we have and hopefully will be cheaper than a do it ourselves swap. But it's apparent that it's not just the engine but the tranny, rear, fuel managment, etc...Hopefully more info comes out sooner or later on it.

If they make this a drop in kit it will be amazing. I took a wrecked Dmax and put the motor and trans into an H2, what a pain, you have no idea. It ended up making 650 hp and 790lbs of tq approximately. So my point is if you want Dmax I would sell your truck and buy one. It is not worth the trouble. Why not put a cummins in your chevy, thats what i was going to do to my truck but to many projects and not enough money. Doing conversions is only cool if they dont make them from the factory. I guess though id you had scsb lowered that would be the cats ***. just my 2 cents.
