These days if you bring up drilling a hole in a drive by wire throttle, you're just asking to get yourself (or your tooner) bashed on. You already have a hole in your throttle body; it's 90mm wide and the size is continuously variable.

Well then maybe this simple task put him above his comfort zone. No reason to drill on your setup.

Point your tuner to this efi live thread...seems like you may need to drill the TB on big n/a builds but this build seems fairly mild.

On DBC, I've had to drill larger holes. Especially on those cheap aftermarket TBs.

On the DBW, there are a few idle effective area settings that need to be increased to allow the blade to open more at idle OR fudge the scalar (smaller).

I agree with everyone else though. no reason to drill a hole in a DBW TB.

What exactly is your truck doing? Surging? Stalling? Takes a long time to get down to the desired idle rpm?

only a issue during start up it will stumble and act like it’s gonna stall but after a couple seconds it clears right up and is perfectly fine after that

Has he tuned running airflow tables? What’s timing doing when this happens?

I’ve tuned large cam stroker motors that started and idled fine with no hole.
