Law says that they can only refuse to fix something that was caused by the modification.
Lets say, your a/c quit working. By law they still have to fix that because it wasn't caused by the modification. But if you burnt a piston or broke a tranny they won't fix that.

It is really up to your dealer.....keep a good relationship with the service manager...A bottle of expensive liquor always works!

The warranty is not a "GM" warranty, its from a separate company that is owned by GM. I think it is like "auto one" or something, and you can go to any ASE certified mechanic to have the work done, and it is paid before they start the work.

Heck, in that case, just find a buddy with a shop and git-r-done..

So, Would The Factory Warranty Cover The Powertrain On The Joe Gibbs Edition Trucks? If So, Whats The Difference?

GM has "approved" vendors that they will still honor the warranty with. Joe Gibbs is another. Technically a dealer could refuse warranty because of a stinkin K&N or aftermarket muffler not approved by GM. Corsa has exhaust systems approved by GM.

But as stated above, if your on good terms with the dealership, they can "not notice" modifications and still honor warranty. They are kinda stretching it though, so dont expect them to do it for no reason.
