Five years later I haven't lost my love for the sound of the Twin-Screw Compressor.
I had to vote "other" since it's not a positive displacement blower.

I will be going with a turbo with my setup but I dont think you can beat the sound of a blower winding out. Mjhowards truck with the small pulley on the RADIX plus the corsa just sounded pure evil

 

I gotta vote Twin screw as well.....although you cant really hear the new Whipples just cruising. But when i dump it on this big block its sounds simply awesome, like a jet engine taking off.....

 

My bud has a tricked out wrx with among other things a large waste gate and bov and can't get over how awesome the radix sounds in cab, as well as coming at you when you on the side of the road. He's a trubo guy but he won't admit that he would like his to sound like mine. hehehe. "Hit the blower!"

I really like the sound of any blower, but I love the sound of my vortech. At idle, part throttle and full throttle it sounds like a jet and everyone wants to know what it is . Sometimes when Im stuck behind one of the vast masses of retarded retirees living in FL, I will stomp it when I get a chance to pass and just as Im along side of them I will let off so that the blowoff valve opens and scares the crap out of them . If you cant do the speed limit, then enjoy the view of one of the many back roads with stop signs every block. Doing 40 on a state highway with a 55 speed limit is totally inconsiderate of other drivers on the road. I havent heard a turbo on one of our trucks yet.

you didnt know!!! they voted that guy designated traffic controler for tha day damn i hate those guys...

 

There in lies the BIGGEST reason for me modding my 5400 lb truck...at the first sign of an opening I give her a quick blip of the throttle and from 40 to 80 in no time...between the exhaust and the blower...I don't need to flip the finger at them...they move over into the slow lane everytime.

 

Tough choice b/c they're all great sounds... but I'm gonna have to say supercharger... nothing like that sound IMO.
