How well does that intercooler work with most of it covered by the bumper? Mine is in the same position and I'm wondering how much the function is inhibited.

 

My iat' were great with it there. The Denali opening is much larger then the regular sierra one.

The newer trucks have more room up top.

If I have to choose one or the other I am mounting my trans cooler up high as if it's damaged your done.

Rick, is there room for a decent size trans cooler in that location with the intercooler?

Yes depending on the grill and year.
Trans cooler can go anywhere in the air flow.
We have installed them infront of the ic.
We have also installed between ic and condenser.
Even down low.
Race car had one under the car with a fan.

We use to install the ic down low under the core support.
But like this way better.

99-06 Chevy no room to get around head lights with out major plastic cutting.
03-07 OBS tricky around the head lights but doable. Still will loose a good amount of plastic.
07-08 NBS good amount of room
09-13 lots of room no plastic lost. Just air dams.
14+ lots of cutting gonna be needed.
